G.R. Iranna - Artists - Aicon Contemporary

G.R. Iranna (b.1970, Karnataka, India), is a renowned Indian painter who translates an internal landscape onto tactile surfaces. Early in his life, Iranna studied in a gurukul, even living in an ashram for almost seven years. These experiences fostered Iranna's strong connection to his cultural roots, manifesting in an exploration of the world's inherent dualities in his work;  Buddhist art influences are evident. Although he began his career painting oil on canvases, Iranna now uses tarpaulin as his primary medium.
